Prepping for the Met Gala takes work, as Gabrielle Union and her glam team can attest. The actor and Flawless by Gabrielle Union founder gave her Instagram followers a peek at what goes on behind the scenes before the red carpet and it is total beauty madness!

Union shared a cute BTS video from her New York hotel room and took the time to shout out the people who make her looks happen. “Being invited to the Met is such a huge honor and I would be remiss not to mention the people who make going to the Met so special — my team,” she shared, introducing her go-to hairstylist Larry Sims, manicurist Thuy Nguyen, makeup artist Esther Edeme and stylist Thomas Christos Kikis.

While Union introduces her glam squad, they’re hard at work bringing her Met Gala look to life: painting dark eyeliner on her inner and outer corners, crafting her box braids and filing and buffing her nails. Union cracks jokes the entire time she intros her team and they play along, mockumentary-style, but it’s very clear that the love is real between them, no matter how tongue-in-cheek the video may be. “If they didn’t love me the way that I love them, none of this would work!” Union says at the end before pretending to be a demanding diva. The whole video is done with a big wink at the audience, but seeing her look come to life amidst the chaos is mesmerizing.
