Do you ever reminisce about a dearly departed item of clothing like a it’s long-lost friend? That’s how I get about this one Marc by Marc Jacobs long-sleeve cherry-print top I had and adored circa 2002. I remember wearing it to see my favorite obscure bands play in Brooklyn and thinking I was just the coolest. Cherry-print was a huge trend at the time, so even though it was inspired by the retro rockabilly style of the 1950s, when I see a teensy cherry pattern like the one on Kourtney Kardashian‘s latest nail art, I immediately associate it with the early 2000s.

Kardashian shared a couple close-ups of the adorable manicure on her Instagram Stories early Thursday morning after celebrating her friend Atiana De La Hoya’s birthday. She modeled it alongside one of three cakes — this one just happened to be covered in cherries, just like her nails.

The oval-shaped, modest-length nails were coated in a glossy, semi-sheer, pink-leaning off-white, setting the tone for look that less 2006 Hot Topic and more timelessly elegant. Each nail is topped with three impossible tiny pairs of red cherries — complete with a white dot for faux shine — black stems, and pastel green leaves.
