The Future of Beauty Appears Promising — and Scientific

because of its almost 30-year history, Allure was steeped in mathematics. But working together with lashes, serums, and mousse can be unfairly written off as frivolous. Even though Allure editors could be analyzing brow pomades one minute, they’re frequently interviewing a cosmetic chemist about molecular science that the next. So this past year, at our Future of Beauty problem, we thought it’d be entertaining and eye-opening to explore how science, engineering, and innovation will form attractiveness within the upcoming decades of Allure’s history.

Beauty has been on a trajectory to get a tectonic change, as a result of inventions which are being rolled out and elegant today, such as augmented reality, injectables, 3D printing, and skin-care personalization according to DNA. Then came COVID-19.

The resultant lockdowns turned time into a loose, occasionally perplexing construct (what afternoon — or perhaps month — can it be anyhow?), upending our awareness of what’s to come from the near and distant future. Suffice it to state, exploring the future of attractiveness has taken on an entirely new meaning.

As has got the potential of health. I’m especially excited that we’re able to associate with a different brand that enjoys science, Wired, to get a distinctive feature bundle. They bring their experience to bear on how to health will alter because we lean on technologies more within an post-pandemic world.

Before you have a look at the other stories, I wish to give you a single note: The prediction for beauty just appears bright if there’s a positive future for the world. Ahead of COVID-19 turned our world upside down, many manufacturers were starting acute initiatives on sustainability and decreasing waste. However, the pandemic has overshadowed and, in some instances, reversed those attempts.

Makeup and skin-care testers have already been — sensibly — phased from shops for public security, but that’s given way to single-serving samples along with the waste they create. In the same way, an eye shadow palette formerly employed by a makeup artist on several customers is presently a significant hygiene dilemma. And it’s not only beauty. Considering that the unease about travel via public transport, several have picked more carbon-intensive solo journey by automobile. And in certain areas, reusable grocery bags are being substituted by disposables.

We certainly don’t have all of the answers, but we’re dedicated, such as others in the business, to being a part of this solution. So check our website over the coming weeks for more stories about how we could all be a part of this shift. The future is always uncertain. However, if we fulfill it with fascination and empathy — and a watch on science — I know we could make it amazing.
