Writer: Ana de Armas on Her Beauty and Skin-Care Routines

Ana de Armas gets the glow of a person with important films in the pipeline (No Time to Die, the hottest from the Daniel Craig-fronted James Bond series, and Deep Water, a thriller in which she stars opposite Ben Affleck, are both slated for release in November), a brand new pup (her name is both Salsa and, states de Armas, she is a “good cuddler”), along with toilet shelves filled with La Mer products.

The celebrity is cooperating with the skin-care brand in celebration of a brand new, souped-up variant of The Concentrate, a fan-favorite serum currently using antioxidant protection to help soothe and fortify the skin barrier. It is de Armas’s first attractiveness venture and — seeing because she “constantly” journeys with a complete package of La Mer goods — a matching one.

We talked with the celebrity about skincare as pruning, changing to Marilyn Monroe for an upcoming movie, and how she is discovering peace amid the pandemic.

ALLURE: What is your oldest beauty memory?

DE ARMAS: Oh my goshI recall using homemade exfoliators and sprays with my mother — we devised them using oils and sugar. I must have been 9 or 10 years old at the moment. Growing up in Cuba, I was constantly outside and around the shore. I had plenty of sunlight on my head, along with the freckles could come out. 

However, as a teen, you do not actually think about that too much. I also did not have products to place on, since in Cuba that is not something that you generally have. My awareness about caring for my skin and protecting it occurred as I got old.

ALLURE: Exactly what exactly does your skin-care regular look like now?

DE ARMAS: I have learned to enjoy time [I spend applying my products] and slow down a tiny bit. It had not been my priority. And that I felt as though I spent too long in the restroom! Now, however, I’m sure after I wake up, I clean my head. I put on all of my serums and sunscreen in the afternoon. 

And at night, should I put cosmetics on such afternoon, I take off the makeup. I wash my head again and that I put on each the serums and eye lotion… the entire thing! I have come to be quite protective of my small creams. So all of a sudden, I find myself purchasing everybody their own so that they do not touch mine!
