Marc Jacobs’ New Fragrance Perfect Campaign Stars Kate Moss’ Daughter, Lila Moss — Interview

There was Marc Jacobs Daisy, the brand new, glowing one; there was Decadence, the vampy, sultry one; today there is Perfect, the everybody. “[The idea is] I am great as I am,” explains Jacobs. “I do not hope to be this; I am this.”

“Being a gay person, you understand, there are particular sorts of homosexual men in the area that locate a specific male kind to be their idea of devotion,” he states, in an interview conducted through Zoom. What was it like developing a style icon as your mother? We inquire. “I seen her shoots occasionally,” Moss says. Can it be glamorous and thrilling and every little girl’s fantasy? “I did not actually listen.” Moss isn’t being reverse; for her, Kate was only Mother. That’s until Lila watched her parents putting with a Rizzoli coffee-table publication full of photographs of the girl who gave birth to her. If this mother and daughter appear in public together, they look tethered with a now-imaginary umbilical cable: shoulder-to-shoulder at the front row in London Fashion Week; holding hands on the streets of Paris; arm-in-arm in Jacobs’s wedding in New York this past year. And that link is there when they’re apart.
